Shorties CAN Run Too! :)

Recently, a good friend of mine from Uni talked me in to joining athletics for the upcoming Sports Carnival. Being the brave and thick skinned shorty, I decided to bring out my guts and go for the tryouts. In the end, I managed to get my name listed for both 1500m and 4 X 400m events.

Knowing I was going to have to compete with born-to-run international students, i'm referring to those from Kenya and Nigeria, I was motivated enough to train hard for the race almost everyday after the tryouts. True enough when the day of the competition arrived, I got defeated by a girl from Kenya. However, I am still very grateful because I wouldn't have been able to complete any of those events without my friends who were there to support me.

So Michelle Eliza, Sean Sia, and my beloved monkey Sean Ong: Thanks so much! :)

Not even willing to wake up for early morning classes, you guys were willing to get up early in the morning for me and stand by the running track while getting burnt by the afternoon sun with empty stomachs just to support me. I thank God for placing you all around me. You guys were the only reasons in my mind throughout the race that pushed me to complete the run :) I wouldn't have been able to do it without you all. And of course not forgetting to thank God for giving me the strength I needed and prayed really hard for, haha.

Some snippets taken by Jon the camera man:

Oh, although I didn't win any of the events, I did manage to get 3rd place for the 1500m run and 2nd place for 4 X 400m :) Thanks to my friends, because it still feels like first.

Incoming...

I got it! All the way from Vancouver, Canada...

I knew it was from you right after seeing your handwriting, I didn't even have to guess who sent it! Lol. Thank you soo much Pui Mun! I almost teared, really...best friends like you are difficult to find nowadays, it's like searching for a needle in the sea.

I just read the post you posted for me and Winney. The post triggered so many memories, especially the time where we held hands during a marathon to complete the race. I'll definitely remember that :) but I do not AT ALL remember walking into tiangs and plants while walking to class! :P

Whatever it is, I am so thankful to have you :) and Winney too of course. She wrote me a really long love letter for my birthday and Valentine's Day too, haha. We went pak-toring without you, again. So hurry pack your baggage NOW and take a plane home!!!

Ignore the water smudges. This lovely piece of work is from Jenna. This is definitely one thing I will keep and treasure for life (until the card disintegrates and decomposes of course). Thank you so much. The card means a lot to me, especially what was written on it. You girls mean a lot to me as well. I am still learning and working hard towards being someone you girls can look up to. However, I really hope you girls will remember to look to God first before anyone else. I know I have tonnes of flaws, but I appreciate the truthfulness in all of you, in fact I am learning alot from you all. So I will definitely be around for you girls, not so much as a leader but more of a friend and sister as much as you all don't like it because I am really just like one of you all, unless you all literally kick me out, haha, which is rather impossible, because i'm yellow ranger :P

Right now, I am thankful beyond any words can describe for friends like you all :)

Bring in the new Zac Efron!

I really shouldn't be doing this at all, but......

I CAN'T HELP IT!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH......

All hail to THE guy who can win my heart anytime over Zac Efron,

I was browsing through my movie collection yesterday looking for something I haven't watched in a long time. I randomly took out the movie "What a Girl Wants" and I watched it twice!!! I highly recommend the movie if you don't mind watching chick flicks. I almost teared during this one, even though i've probably watched it for more than 10 times. However, the catch of the movie is to pay attention to the background music everytime the guy with the name Ian Wallace comes on stage and starts singing.

Oliver James is his actual name. He is the reason why I never get sick of watching movies with him acting in it. Simply because he is undeniably cute, talented, sings like an angel...and most of all, he's British. His accent is definitely one thing that makes him very attractive indeed. You may find him familiar. Other than "What a Girl Wants", he also starred in the movie "Raise Your Voice" with Hilary Duff which also brought out his singing and music talent.

Too bad he chose acting over being a singer. When I found out about that news, I was like..."that guy just threw half of the world's money he could have owned into the sea." But that is just my opinion, so maybe you can tell me about yours :)

A Little Too Not Happy

I miss a lot of things and people.
Sometimes I wish time will rewind itself and I would undo most of the things that I've done.
I would do, say and act differently.
I would uncry all the tears that I've cried.
I would keep the people that have left.
I wouldn't buy all the unnecessary things that I did not need.
I wouldn't eat all the unnecessary junk that was bad for me.
I wouldn't waste so much time when I could have used them better.
I wouldn't make all the promises that I couldn't keep.
I wouldn't be sitting here wishing I didn't do many of the things I did.

However, sometimes I am thankful because time is so patient and slowly allows people to realize many truths about themselves, which is exactly why I am sitting here right now regretting, wishing I didn't used to be so naive.

If only someone gave me a time machine for my birthday, it would seriously be the best present ever.

And NO, there is nothing wrong with my English. This post is exactly the way I want it to be - a contradiction between the past and present.

Happy Birthday Indeed.

I am officially 20 years young. Thanks tonnes to those who remembered, all of you made this year's birthday an unforgettable one. I can't thank every single one of you enough :) I appreciate all the little wishes, cakes, presents and most of all the effort.

I had 3 cakes this year, which explains why I am so round right now. Here are some snippets:

This one is from my university mates. White chocolate macadamia :) a.k.a my favourite cake.

This is from my family, Japanese Green Tea with red beans in between :) And I think they mistakenly assumed that I am 21 this year.

This is from the youth, I really wish I knew what cake this is. Oh, and it was actually written on the cake "HAPPY BIRTHDAY EILEEN ONG!" but I scribbled the last name off. Lol.

Despite the financial crisis most people are facing at present, thanks so much to those who got me gifts and digged deeply into your pockets just so I could have a good time. I had fun being surprised, unwrapping presents and celebrating the day I was expecting to be unnoticed with a whole new bunch of people this year. This is a fresh feeling that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thanks ya'll!!! *close to tears*
